Village Council
The Village Council meets on the 2nd Tuesday each month. If you would like to contact a Village Council member or attend a meeting, send us an email at [email protected] and your question will be forwarded to the appropriate person.
Elaine joined the VWW as a member and volunteer in 2017 and is presently on the VWW Council and Communications Marketing and Technology team. She is an almost native Oregonian coming to Portland when she was one year old. She has lived in Aloha for 36 years and is a retired Elementary School Teacher. She also volunteers with her church, at her granddaughters’ schools, and with the United Nations Association Portland.
Darolyn Wylie
Treasurer - Darolyn joined the village in 2019 and now serves as VWW Treasurer. She has been on the Village Council since 2020 and appreciates the opportunity to explore how we can better serve our members in the future. She is a native Oregonian and retired in 2015 from Powell’s Books, also volunteers with her church and keeps busy gardening, reading, walking, and doing colored pencil art.
Barb Hart
Barb has been involved with VWW since 2014 and has previously served on the council. She grew up in Portland and returned to Oregon when she was ready to retire. Barb is on the Communications Marketing and Technology team which produces the newsletter and activity calendar, updates social media and manages the website. She also enjoys gardening, going to art shows, walking, and attending Village events.
Malea Miglioretto
Secretary - Malea started out being a first contact for interested new volunteers. She now serves as the Secretary of the Village Council. Except for a short period in Southern California, Malea has always lived in the Hillsboro area. She now lives in rural North Plains with her husband, 7-year-old son, two dogs, and 30 guinea fowl.
Maureen O'Rourke
Member at Large - She joined the Village shortly after the 1st ribbon cutting ceremony in 2016. She also serves as a Village scheduler two days a week and interviews new members & volunteers for the newsletter. Maureen lives in the Rock Creek area, is active in the ham radio community and volunteers for the Portland Opera. Maureen grew up as a military “brat” on various Army bases around the world and she retired from the world of libraries and higher education as an academic advisor.
Lyn Trainer
VNW Liaison - Lyn was excited to “discover” Villages NW in 2015 as she was looking for a way to expand the options for older adults to retain their independence and autonomy. Her background with nonprofits drew her to volunteering with the “hub”. She joined the Villages NW Board of Directors in December 2015 where she serves as managing director, sharing day-to-day operations responsibilities with Dick Eyde. She is also an active member of River West Village.
