Direct Service to Members
Members are entitled to services that help them continue to stay in their homes and participate in their communities.
Village volunteers are available to:
- Provide medical transportation, to pick up and deliver groceries and prescriptions, and help with outside chores for our Members Plus.
- In-home services may be scheduled. Both the member and volunteer must wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status, and practice physical distancing in the home.
Our direct service volunteers perform tasks like a good neighbor, helping someone who needs a bit of help with everyday tasks in order to remain living in her/his home such as changing a smoke alarm battery or raking a few leaves. Volunteer to assist members with tasks such as:
* Trips to medical appts, shopping or social events (we do not provide transportation for individuals who depend solely on a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Walkers are OK.)
* Handyperson help
* Light yardwork
* Technology assistance
* Daily or weekly phone check-in
* Prescription pickup
* Companionship visits
* Picture hanging
